Matthew 28:5-7

But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead... Matthew 28:5-7 (NKJV)

Revenge - A Quick Pastor Ed Study

Revenge

Judges 9:56a (NKJV) Thus God repaid the wickedness of Abimelech...

Too many times we want to take things into our own hands and inflict revenge on others. We've been hurt so badly that we really do think it's our right to make them hurt just as bad. You might even be feeling that right now as you read this note.

Friend, God will watch your back. He is watching your back. He will bring out about equity and justice in His timing. How do we know that? Jesus Christ, His own precious Son died to forgive you of your sins. He died so that you might live. It is in His resurrection that you and I find our strength and sufficiency for every day life.

Just like we see in Judges and all throughout the Scriptures, God will repay.

We're not to respond in our own flesh, with our own strength, in our own wisdom. We know that but it's good to be reminded to step back and allow God to be our defender. Remember the words of our precious Savior:

"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect." Matthew 5:43-48 (NKJV)
